What is Purity? Not having sex? Avoiding drugs? Yes, but that’s not all it is. Purity could range anywhere from sex before marriage to drugs to that television show you just know is inappropriate to the clothes you wear, even greater than that. What we don’t realize in our society today is that a lot of things in this world influence our purity negatively. We need to protect our hearts.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Proverbs 4:23
Your heart is where everything is. Your beliefs, love, life. Everything. We need to protect that. We need to learn to not give into the temptations Satan puts us through each and every day. We need to learn how to lean on the Lord. When were sitting on the couch flipping through the channels on T.V. what are we going to chose? Something that keeps us pure? When that web link turns out to be the complete wrong thing you were looking for on the website, what are you going to do? Stay on the website or close it out? We, as humans, have a choice to stay pure and safe with the Lord. We have the right to say no. God will protect us and help us through every little bit of it too, we just have to let him. God made us beautiful in our own ways, we can’t abuse that. We can’t let Satan use our bodies for sex and drugs. One leads to another, just like you can’t just eat one chip from a full bag of potato chips. We lie, steal, cheat, that’s Satan’s doing. God wants us to overcome that, and we can. So God. . . .
“Give us Pure Hearts. . .”
