I’m not perfect. . .

Are you perfect? I’m not perfect. No one is perfect. So why do we act like it? Why do we act like we don’t sin? Some people expect others to be perfect. To have perfect grades, perfect jobs, perfect houses…. but most of all a clean heart. Way back when, all the settlers were migrating to the west, mainly California. They did this because of the Gold Rush. Everyone wanted to get rich and have a fortune. So when they found this gold, was it covered in dirt? Was it in the perfect shape that everyone thinks of when they think of gold? No, how could it be? it was buried probably 100 feet in the ground or in the wall of a mine. Compare that to you. Are you that piece of gold? With dirt and a couple of bumps and bruises? I know I am. I’m not perfect and I don’t claim to be and never will. We are all that piece of gold. We are all sinners of this dark and dying world. But the thing is, we don’t need to mope around and dwell upon this. Or turn it into something dramatic. Because it doesn’t matter if we’re perfect or not. God still loves us. God still forgives us. He washes us clean for us only to make it worse again, but you know what? God doesn’t care! God will love us eternally. No matter how many times you’ve screwed up, no matter how many sins you commit a day. God is always here. The best part is, exactly that. He is always here. He’s waiting for us to come running to his arms, because they are always open to take in all those hurts and pains. He’s always here to comfort you and protect you in the storms of your life. All’s you have to do is let him.
