Let’s just take a moment to think about that phrase. “Unstoppable God”. What does that really mean to you?
It may look like. . .
You cannot stop God in doing what He wants.
God never stops loving.
God never stops sharpening you.
God never stops caring for you.
God is unstoppable.
These are all HUGE truths about God. Notice they all have one thing in common: they show that God will never give up. He will never stop caring for you and loving you. And His door is always open for you.
The song “Unstoppable God” that inspired this post states “Unstoppable God, let your glory go on and on. Impossible things in your name they shall be done”. You see, God can do the impossible. He will NOT stop until He has achieved His ultimate goal. Things that we think are not possible (like Jesus and Peter walking on water in the Gospels) or maybe it’s getting through that rough break up, or getting a good grade in a class, or maybe it’s your marriage; when we look at these things with a narrow-minded, earthly view, they are impossible -“there’s no way I can get a good grade in that class”, “my marriage is impossible to make work”. But when we look to God, when we look to the power of the Almighty King, when we look to the Holy Ghost, we can know that anything is possible.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19.26
Now what does that look like? What does God making “impossible things” possible look like?
For one, it looks like Peter walking on water. How did he do it? He kept his eyes on Jesus. (Matthew 14.22-33)It looks like Jesus healing people who are blind or cannot speak. It looks like Jesus feeding five thousand people from only five loaves of bread and two fish. (Matthew 14.13-21). It looks like being redeemed from total damnation by Christ’s victory over death on the cross and His resurrection.
What’s in common about all these things? They surround God. These aren’t things done by humans, but they are done by God.
So what are you going to do about it?
Take up your cross and follow Jesus. (Matthew 16.24-28) Put your trust in the one who created you and sent His only son to die for you. Throw it in the fire and never look back. Let God make the impossible happen in your life because He is unstoppable.
